"Taj Mahal is the world famous monument of India that is affected by air pollution from a nearby factory.

Taj Mahal is a historical monument which was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his wife Mumtaz which she requested during her death bed.

It is located in Agra. It was constructed with the help of precious marbles on the "bank of river Yamuna". Due to rapid urbanization and hike in industrialization, many factories and industries were set up near the monuments.

Due to lack of installation of pollution control devices in the industries, the sulphur dioxide and other toxic chemicals present in the smoke and fumes released from the nearby industries has paved way for the air to get polluted and in turn, this has led to an adverse effect on Taj Mahal.

The shiny lustrous white marbles are now appearing yellowish brown in colour due to air pollution."
