x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x - 6

a) p(x) = p(-2)

p(-2) = (-2)^3 + 2(-2)^2 - 5(-2) - 6

p(-2) = -8 + 8 + 10 - 6

p(-2) = 4

b) p(x) = p(2)

p(2) = (2)^3 + 2(2)^2 - 5(2) - 6

p(2) = 8 + 8 - 10 - 6

p(2) = 16 - 16

p(2) = 0

c) p(x) = p(-3)

p(-3) = (-3) ^3 +2(-3) ^2 - 5(-3) - 6

p(-3) = -27 + 18 + 15 - 6

p(-3) = -33 + 33

p(-3) = 0

d) p(x) = p(3)

p(3) = (3)^3 + 2(3)^2 - 5(3) - 6

p(3) = 27 + 18 - 15 - 6

p(3) = 45 - 21

p(3) = 24

since 2 and -3 are zero of the polynomial equation x^3 + 2x^2 - 5x - 6
