Poor conductors are any material that does not conduct electricity, heat or both very well and are generally known as insulators. Non-metals are typically insulators (poor conductors) while metals, i.e. Copper, are very good conductors which is why they are used in cookwear and electric wiring.

If heat can not be conducted from one end to other then it is know as poor conductor or bad conductor of heat.
- It cannot carry out heat through it.
Example: Wood, cloth, air, water, plastic.
