So far I’ve visited:
In Europe: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom - including the Crown Dependencies of the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
In Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan.
In Asia: Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
In Oceania: Australia.
In America: Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, Turks & Caicos, United States.
I’ve liked many parts of many of the countries I’ve visited, but apart from my home country - the UK - my favourite by far is Australia.
However I’ll admit to being somewhat biased here, being half Australian myself, and having got family, including my son, living there. It’s a country I’ve visited many times since I was just 4 years old, when I was there for several months, and over the years I’ve spent many long - 5–6 week - holidays both in specific locations and travelling cross-country.
It’s a vast country with a huge variation of climate and scenery, pretty much all of which, from snow covered mountains, to tropical rain forest, to scorching desert, can be beautiful. There’s space to breathe, even in the crowded cities, so much to see and do, and I’ve always found the people very friendly and accommodating; by and large their life ethos is to work in order to spend time enjoying themselves in their free time, a refreshing change from some countries.
If I had to emigrate to another country, Australia would be my first choice without a shadow of doubt.
