One sign of a frozen shoulder is that the joint becomes so tight and stiff that it is nearly impossible to carry out simple movements, such as raising the arm. The movement that is most severely inhibited is external rotation of the shoulder

In pericapsulitis, the shoulder joint movement is restricted. It is also known as frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis and is a disabling and painful condition.

When it happens, the connective tissue around the glenohumeral shoulder joint and the shoulder capsule swells and become stiff.

It further results in excruciating pain and limits the motion of a person facing it.

In cold weather or at night, the pain can become unbearable.
