Muga is only produced in Assam and its adjacent area.

Bihar produces three types of silk

i.e. Mulberry, Tasar and Eri silk.

For production and monitoring of three types of silk, there are 28 centres/units functioning under Directorate Handloom and Sericulture, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar.
