Given:

Mass of limestone(CaCO₃) = 0.5 g

Mass of calcium oxide(CaO) = 0.28 g

Volume of CO₂ at STP = 112 ml

To find:

The law of chemical combination illustrated by the following data

Calculation:

The reaction will be

  CaCO_3\longrightarrow CaO+CO_2

Total mass of the reactants = 0.5 g

112 gm of CO₂ at STP is equivalent to 0.22g of CO₂

Total mass of products = 0.28 + 0.22

                                       = 0.5 g

Total mass of reactants = Total mass of products

Therefore law of conservation of mass is illustrated in the reaction
