Upper layer of soil called Solum (horizon A and horizon B) are consist of most weatherd mineral and organic material. The dynamic process of weathering i.e, Physical and chemical wethering occur on upper soil which continuously add nutrients.

Biological agents also responsible for the breakdown of complex organic matter by which release simple nutrients. This process of mineralisation make soil fertile.

However lower soil layer horizon c and bed rock are subjected to weathering but they are Hard Rocks.
