Stratosphere is very stable, the ozone layer here absorbs ultraviolet rays, and hence also claled ozonosphere. Ozone (O3) layer of the atmosphere prevents ultraviolet rays from coming on the surface of earth. Though the thickness varies seasonally and geographically, the ozone layer is found in the lower portion of the stratosphere, from approximately 20 to 30 kilometers above Earth.
