The 7th Schedule of the Indian Constitution specifies the division of powers between Union and State. It contains Union, State, and Concurrent lists. The Union list contains 100 items and Union has the sole authority to make laws, State list contains 66 items on which state and Two union territories have legislative assemblies i.e Delhi(except police, land, law, and order) and Puducherry can make laws. However, Parliament can also make laws but in such cases, as specified in the Constitution. The concurrent list contains 52 items and Both Union, as well as state, has the authority to make laws on the matter.
