Babur was famous as a warrior in his home country of Uzbekistan and part of his fame is due to him conquering the city or Samarkand at the age of 16 in 1497. His ambitions of expanding lead him to head towards India where he wanted to start his own Empire. Upon his arrival, He faced opposition from The Lodhi Dynasti of The Delhi Sultanate. Both sides faced each other in direct combat at Panipat in 1526. In this battle, Babur with help from Safavid and Ottoman cannons annihilated the entirety of Lodi Armies and even took down Ibrahim Lodi in the aftermath. Eventually Babur wpuld face opposition from the Rajputana Clans lead by the famous Rana Sanga.
