A KNEADED eraser (it comes as a small square, rubbery, can be kneaded, pulled a bit, folded, formed into fine points) and a plastic eraser;

Drawing pencils (NOT telephone msg pencils) marked HB, B2, B3, B4, B6, B8, B9. as the b’s go higher in number, they get softer);

a plastic or metal ruler (wood gets nicked);

a good handheld pencil sharpener, or good electric one. Some peeps sharpen with xacto knives to get LONG and very sharp points;

Stomps/torchons-greyish paper rolled into a point, varied sizes, used to smudge and shade;

other drawing optionals: different types charcoal, and graphite sticks;

an online trip to Amazon, for a good book or 2 on drawing techniques (that mentions principles and elements of art, e.g., perspective, values, texture, etc.)

Photos to replicate, or sitting outside plein air, (drawing in the field) or set up a still-life on a table.
