Victoria Memorial in Kolkata was made up of White Makrana Marble.  William Emerson was the architect of this museum which has a collection of more than 30,000 artefacts.  This is the same white marble used in the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world.  It was built by the Britishers during 1906 and 1921 in the memory of their great Queen Victoria.
