The material which is used to make the heating coils of electrical heating devices is called nichrome.

Explanation:

  • Nichrome is nothing but an alloy of Nickel and chromium. It has a special characteristics that it has high boiling point as well as melting point and high resistance.
  • Due to this reason it is used as a heating coil in electrical heating devices , more the resistance in a wire mode is the heat produced
  • As a  result the amount of heat produced in the electrical heating device is more. Since it has high melting point the coil does not melt very easily.
