ANSWER

  • MATERIALS

WHY?

The pressure vessel of a boiler is usually made of steel (or alloy steel), or historically of wrought iron. Stainless steel, especially of the austenitic types, is not used in wetted parts of boilers due to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking

DETAILED STUDY

  • Copper is used in designing water boilers because it is least reactive metal and it doesn't react with the steam.

  • In factories cast iron are used to make water heaters and water boilers because at factories they need boilers to produce hot water and not steam, Iron boilers run at low pressure and they keep heating the water and they avoid boiling
