There are two ways of teaching maths:

1. inductive method

2. Deductive method

In Inductive method we start by giving examples and then reach to final formula.Used till middle school.

For example , to calculate Simple interest, we have to develop the formula.

Students what will be the value when you multiply→ , \frac{1000\times10\times2}{100} = 10\times10\times2=200

→ Similarly, \frac{2000\times10\times2}{100}=20\times10\times2= Rs 400

..............................................................................................

So, formula for simple interest = \frac{Principal \times{\text{Time}}\times{\text{Rate of interest}}}{100}

While , in Deductive method we directly use formula , the educator or the teacher explains the logic or application behind a given problem , and tells the students to use it directly.This method is used in higher classes usually in Higher class and at University level.

So, Deductive method is that method  which focuses on application or use of formula of directly on a problem.
