Isopleth method is used to show the distribution of altitude, temperature, rainfall etc in a map. Isopleths are lines of equal value in the form of quantity, intensity and density. They are drown as contour lines at some selective interval. The spacing of lines express the rate of variation. If the  lines appear much apart, variation is gentle and when they are closely set, variation is sharp.
