The principle of its use is based on the fact that when the mirror is adjusted so that the cavity in the teeth is at a position between the pole and principal focus of the concave mirror(closer to the cavity) then the dentist can easily see and observe the virtual and magnified image
of the cavity present in teeth. This helps the dentist to clearly observe the small cavity in a magnified view.
