Answer:
Akbar
Explanation:
If we trace back to Akbar’s regime which represented the zenith of Islamic power in India, we will find that Akbar was a curious, open-minded, and pragmatic ruler and quite possibly one of the first rulers in the world to lend his support to regular state-sponsored inter-faith public dialogue, which brought together learned men from across the religious spectrum – Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Parsees, Jains, and even atheists from across the realm were invited to participate in what must surely have a unique event at the time (Deen-e-Ilahi). The remarkable assimilation of territories under Akbar’s rule was not forced by faith but happened with the willing help of Hindu princes, Rajput warlords, and commanders. This also ensured that the religious sentiments of the captured territories were never interfered with or disrupted. Akbar’s civil services openly invited and employed Hindus in all levels of civic administration and tax collection. Akbar considered Hindus to be better ‘men of business’ than the uneducated and mercenary adventurers who formed a large proportion of the Mohammedan armies. Emperor Akbar called for the extermination of Jaziya (religious tax) and further extended that no duties or taxes were to be imposed on any religious fairs, temples, or events of the Hindu community. The emperor would rise early to prostrate before the rising sun (a common Hindu practice), maintained a Rajput kitchen for his Hindu queen, granted permission for the Portuguese Jesuit Christians in his new capital Fatehpur-Sikri.
