(A) 2 upon 3

(B) 1 upon 3

(A) 1 upon 5

(A) 10

Solution:-

Total number of cards = 26

A to Z are 26 alphabets.

Number of vowels from A to Z are 5:-

A E I O U

Favorable cards = 5

Total cards = 26

Probablity of drawing a card with a vowel on it = \frac{5}{26}

.°. the probablity of the card drawn is vowel card = \frac{5}{26}

Solution:-

Total number of pens: 5 + 8 + 3 = 16

Number of blue pens = 8

.°. required probability = \frac{Number~of~blue~pens}{Total~number~of~pens}

= \frac{8}{16}

  • 8 ones are 8 and 8 twos are 16 , so 8 and 16 get canceled.

= \frac{1}{2}

.°. The probablity of that the pens blue is \frac{1}{2}
