Since 1/2 is the zeros of the polynomial P(x)= 2x^2+3x+1

Therefore if we put the value 1/2 in P(x) , then we have the number which to be subtracted from the polynomial P(x)

Therefore,

2×(1/2)^2+3×1/2+1

=1/2+3/2+1

=1/2+3/2+2/2

=(1+3+2)/2

=6/2

=3
