For an object to produce a dark shadow, it must not allow light to pass through it at all.

If all the light on falling on the object is reflected or absorbed, a dark shadow is formed.

From the options given in the question, the one that will produce a dark shadow is wooden duster.

Dark Shadow is formed when the Ray falling on the Object gets absorbed by it. Due to the absorption of all the Ray, the Intensity becomes negligible but the dark shadow of the object will be forming because of the presence of the torch behind it.

∴ Answer will be Option (d).

Since, the Wooden Buster, is the hard block and it absorbs all the Ray falling on it. Therefore, it will have the Dark shadow in front of the Torch.

But Glass is the Reflecting surface which will form the bright shadow.

Sometimes Wax paper also forms the Dark shadow since it also absorbs the ray. Hence, it can also the answer of this.

A Glass full of water will reflect the ray and hence it will form the bright image.

Hope it helps.
