India has 7,000 kilometers of seacoast with Bangladesh, Burma (T), Indonesia, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka , Thailand nations. India claims a twelve-nautical-mile territorial sea and an exclusive economic zone of 200 nautical miles. The territorial seas total 314,400 square kilometers.

On the south, India projects into and is bounded by the Indian Ocean –- in particular, by the Arabian Sea on the west, the Lakshadweep Sea to the southwest, the Bay of Bengalon the east, and the Indian Ocean proper to the South .....
