The peptides containing D-Amino acids are found on the surface of bacterial cell wall. They are short chains of amino acid monomers linked by amide bonds.

Bacterial cell walls are made up of Peptidoglycan, also known as Murein.

Polysaccharide chains cross linked by Peptides containing D-Amino acids form the Peptidoglycan.
