The sub-tropical agro climatic zone covers the maximum area in 'Himachal Pradesh'. This is the Shivalik Hill Zone that consists of 'foothills' and 'valley' areas from '350' to '650' above the mean sea level.

EXPLANATION:

This zone covers 35% of the geographical area and 40% of the cultivated area of the state. The crops grown in the Shivalik Hill Zone include wheat, maize, paddy, gram, mustard, sugarcane, vegetables and potatoes.
