We have to check which of the following angular momentum is not possible?

1. h/2π

2. h/π

3. 3h/2π

4. h/3π

Solution : according to Bohr's theory of atomic model, angular momentum of an electron in nth orbit is always integral multiple of h/2π.

I.e., angular momentum = nh/2π , where n is integer.

let see which one of the following doesn't have integer value of n.

1. h/2π => (1)h/2π ⇒n = 1 (integer)

2. h/π ⇒2h/2π⇒n = 2 (integer)

3. 3h/2π ⇒n = 3 ( integer )

4. h/3π ⇒(2/3)h/2π ⇒n = (2/3) ≠ integer

So angular momentum can't be h/3π as per Bohr's theory.

therefore correct option is (d)
