Regeneration in biology is basically the process of restoration or renewal or growth of cell, organisms making the plant or animal resilient to damage.  

Regeneration also refers to the process by which animals and plants restore or replace discarded or damaged or lost parts by growing the lost part afresh. Some animals can regenerate tails, limbs or even the liver.  

These are some of the animals that can regenerate lost parts:  

1. Lizards can grow new tails if  they lose their tails

2. Flat worms known as Planarians when cut into pieces the pieces grow into new worms.

3. Sea cucumbers if cut into pieces the body part that has been cut becomes a new sea cucumber

4. Sharks are able to replace lost teeth

5. Spiders can grow new legs or missing parts of the legs in there is any damage

6. Sponges which have the ability of being divided have cells that grow and combine with each other exactly as before

7. Starfish can grow new arms and in some cases a new star fish can grow from a lost arm.
