Answer:

Maximum electrical conductivity is shown by option (d) 0.2M H2SO4

Explanation:

Given: Aqueous solutions of different species are given which has same concentration that is 0.2 M

To Find: Which of the aqueous solution among the given has maximum electrical conductivity.

Solution: Electrical conductivity refers to electrical conduction of electrical current from a solution. Electrical conductivity depend on the number of ions of a compound in its solution form, more the number of ions greater will be the conductivity of that solution.

In the above question as the concentration of all solutions is same that is 0.2M so now the conductivity only depends on number of ions.

For 0.2M HON and 0.2M CH3COOH the number of ions produced after dissociation in both is 2 and number of ions for 0.2M H2CO3 and 0.2M H2SO4 is 3 that is 2 of hydrogen atom and 1 carbonate and sulphate ions respectively.

Now as the number of ions are same in solution 3 and 4 now conductivity depends on inductive effect and resonance effect as So4^2- shows both inductive as well as resonance effect so polarity of ions are more hence conduction is more.

So, Maximum electrical conductivity is shown by option (d) 0.2M H2SO4
