Answer:

(I) IS NOT A SOLUTION

substituting (0, 5) in X+2Y=15

L.H.S= 0+2(5) = 0+10 =10 _NOT equal to R.H.S

(II) IS A SOLUTION:

because... substituting (-1, 8) in X+2Y=15.,

as L.H.S=(-1)+2(8)= (-1)+16 =15 = R.H.S

(III) IS A SOLUTION.

L.H.S=15+2(0) = 15+0= 15=R.H.S

(IV) IS NOT A SOLUTION

L.H.S= (-1)+2(-7)= -1-14 = -15 = minus R.H.S

Therefore not a solution.
