The correct answer is option (a) 1 and 2 only.

Option 3. is incorrect as  Chief Ministers of any of the states through which the Ganga flows are not the chairman of National Ganga River Basin Authority. The Prime Minister is the chairperson of the the Authority. The Union Ministers and the Chief Ministers of the concerned states are members of the Authority. Some of such states are Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, etc.
