In the absence of options, please note answer as follows:

President Truman believed that if left unchecked, the Soviets would continue with their geopolitical expansion across the world.

To act against this, an American foreign policy was drafted and enacted in 1947, which provided for financial aid to countries and programmes that supported the United States, in their silent fight against the Soviets during the Cold War. It was known by the name The Truman Doctrine.

President Harry Truman (1884 – 1972) was America’s 33rd President.

The Truman Doctrine was started in order to counter the political expansion of the Soivet Union during the time of Cold War.

It was President Harry S Truman who had actually started it on March 1947, later expanding it during July 1948.

The direct involvement of the American force was not there but the Congress sent economic aid to Turkey and Greece during this time of crisis
