The announcement of Independence by America to the other nations is to clearly show that the colonies had separated by themselves from the Britain. Not only Jefferson but three others joined the committee and helped him to draft the letter. In the announcement of Independence, Jefferson said that the people had the right to change the government if the government becomes opponent to people's voice.

If the government failed to hear people's voice, then there will be no government. The parliament required the American colonists to govern them but it was not authorized. Hence, the statement was presented on July 2nd, 1776 at the Continental congress in Philadelphia and later it was signed by 56 members of the "Declaration of Independence".
