Suttapitaka of Buddhist literature contains Buddha’s  sermons on matters of ethics and doctrines.

It is the second of the three division of Tripitaka, which is delivered in the writings of Theravada Buddhism.

Tripitaka consists of 10,000 and above discourses.

These were delivered forty five year teaching career of Buddha.

The Suttas can be of five nikayas: Digha Nikāya, Majjhima Nikāya, Samyutta Nikāya, Anguttara Nikāya, and Khuddaka Nikāya.
