The third side of the triangle is 14 cm.

Given:

Two sides of a triangle are 7cm and 9 cm

To find:

The third side of the triangle

Solution:

Let's know about the sides of triangles

Properties of sides of triangles:

The length of a triangle's two sides added together is longer than the third side.

The length of the third side of a triangle third side is shorter than the difference between its two sides.

Let a, b, and c be the sides of the triangle

By the given conditions

=> a + b > c

=> a - b < c

=> a + b > c > a - b

Here we have

Two sides of a triangle are 7cm and 9 cm

Let a = 9 cm, b = 7 cm, and c be the third side

By the condition a + b > c > a - b

=>  9 + 7 > c > 9 - 7

=> 16 > c > 2

Thus, the third side of the triangle will be lies between 16 to 2

Therefore,

The third side of the triangle is 14 cm.
