Red blood cells (RBC) OR Red blood corpuscles are the blood cells which help to transport oxygen from lungs to all parts of the body.....

They contain a pigment called Hemoglobin which gives them the colour red . Hemoglobin also has the affinity for oxygen... so it attracts or brings in oxygen into the RBC.. They are in large numbers.. but small in shape... as compared to the WBC... RBC is also called erythrocyte....
