There were several factors which contributed the famous soil erosion disaster in 1930s.

This included ignorance of farmers, greed for surplus yield and unnecessary use of machines in the farms.

Out of these, the topmost factor was the deep plowing done by the farmers which removed the virgin top soil from the surface. In the absence of supporting grass cover which trapped soil and moisture, prevailing winds blew away the top soil in a famous phenomenon called ' Dust Bowl’.

Farming because the farmers are tilling the topsoil and then loosened them up.

The wind is then blowing it away and creating the storms of dust.

Erosion of soil is the natural process which is affecting the form of the land.

In agriculture this is referred to as wearing away of the field’s topsoil by the natural forces of water.
