The diseases that are caused by virus are:

(D) (iii) Dengue and (iv) Typhoid only

  • Dengue is caused by a bite from a mosquito. This mosquito transmits the virus of the family of "Flaviviridae". It is not spread from person to person but a bite from a mosquito that has previously bitten an already infected person causes Dengue. Dengue decreases the platelet count in the blood.
  • Typhoid is caused by the virus that is transferred to the human body by a special bacteria called the "Salmonella Typhi Bacteria". This virus is mainly spread from the vegetables, water that is infected by faecal matter.
