HELLO DEAR,

QUESTIONS l:- Which of the following element does not shows colour in the following oxidation state ? *

(1) La(III)

(2) Ce(III)

(3) Pr(III)

(4) Yb(III

SOLUTION:- The following element which does not show colour in their oxidation State are -

(2) Ce (III)

(3) Pr ( III)

(4) Yb ( III)

It is because there belong to f- block elements, and f -block element does not show the colour in their oxidation State.

Only La (III) so there colour in their oxidation State from given option, because it belong to the category II d- block element. And only d- block elements cancel the complementary colour in their oxidation State, which is called DD transition.

I HOPE IT'S HELP YOU DEAR,

THANKS.
