3x²-6x-2 = 0

now..put the value of x = 2

=> 3(2)²-6×2-2 = 0

=> 4 - 12-2 = 0

=> 12-14 = 0

=> -2 = 0

since the LHS RHS

so 3 is not a root of equation 3x²-6x-2 = 0
