Marie Curie (1867 – 1934) and Pierre Curie (1859 – 1906) were physicists and pioneers in the research on radioactivity. The Theory of Radioactivity and discovery of the elements - Polonium and Radium, is attributed to Marie Curie. The research work undertaken by Marie, Pierre and Henri Becquerel on radiation, won them the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903.
