The arrival of the British was not responsible for the decline of the Mughal Empire.
- Nobles of the Mughal empire were really selfish and had rivalry amongst themselves and just degraded the wealth of the Empire.
- Since there was unity amongst the regional powers they began to succeed the Mughals.
- The Mughals did not set any rules for succession. If a ruler died then there was a war for succession between the king's sons, this let to the ultimate downfall the Mughal Empire especially after the demise of Aurangzeb as the later successors were not able to handle the Empire.
- After all this i.e. after the Mughal Empire declined, the British came to India therefore they have no significant role in the decline of the Mughal empire.
