Carbon monoxide gas mixes with the blood and prevents it from carrying oxygen . On inhaling Carbon monoxide, it bonds with the haemoglobin present in the RBC of our blood and forms a complex called carboxyhaemoglobin. Carboxyhaemoglobin lowers oxygen saturation of blood, which can even cause death of an individual.

Carbon monoxide...

As it combines with haemoglobin forming carboxyhaemoglobin in blood as it prevents binding with oxygen..therefore a person dies on breathing high propotion of CO(Carbon Monoxide)
