Rectangle

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Measure of side of square is 35 m.
  • Length of rectangle is 44 m.
  • Breadth of rectangle is 26.5 m.

To Find:

  • Which of these has smaller area and by how much ?

Solution: Lets find the area of both.

As we know that

Area of Square = Side²

\implies{\rm } Area = 35²

\implies{\rm } Area = 35 \times 35

\implies{\rm } Area = 1225

Now finding the area of rectangle

Area of Rectangle = LengthBreadth

\implies{\rm } Area = 44 \times 26.5

\implies{\rm } Area = 1166

On comparing both the areas we got

  • Ar (sq) > Ar (rect)

➮ Area of rectangle s smaller.

➮ By how much = (1225 – 1166) = 59 m²

Hence, area of rectangle is smaller than square by 59 m².
