• Shaheed Bhagat Singh was one of Sardar Udham Singh's most ardent supporters.
• In a prison, Udham Singh met Bhagat Singh. Udham referred to Bhagat as his "guru."
• Bhagat Singh's impact and influence on Udham were both tremendous and long-lasting.
• The killing was carried out in retaliation for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar, in which O'Dwyer was involved.
• Singh was later prosecuted and convicted of murder, and he was hung in July 1940.
