The Foreign Investment Promotion Board was the latest institute to be scrapped in 2017.
It was an inter-ministerial body placed in the Department of Economic Affairs in the Finance ministry which looked into the matter of Foreign Direct Investment .
The Government has entrusted the responsibilities of FIPB to individual departments of the government which have been empowered to clear FDI proposals in consultation with DIPP .
