anilpazhakutty: sorry ..but the answer in one of the books says that the right choice is B
anilpazhakutty: Can u say why u chose the answer D
lakshaygoel76: ok
anilpazhakutty: why u chose that answer? Is there any specific reason?

Heat of hydration depends on the charge of ion
greater the charge, higher will be the heat of hydration
so aluminum ion has greater charge density it means it has higher heat of hydration

when two ions have same charges then in that case you can find the heat of hydration by comparing their atomic size.
Smaller the atomic size greater will be the heat of hydration and vice versa.

Thank you
