Aliasing is the distortion that refers to the results that occur when the sample which is reconstructed is something different from the continuous signal which was originally there. Aliasing is referred to as temporal aliasing when it can occur in signals sampled as digital audio.
Let the sampling frequency be fs, and the maximum frequency be fm, then fs≥2fm.
For a limited signal that has to be recovered after sampling, then the frequency and the maximum frequency content in the signal should be in the following condition fs≥2fm.
