Answer:-  Addressing is the major problem of IPV4.

IPV4 provides single IP for each node.It uses 32 bit address.  This is further divided in A, B, C classes. Many addresses where already assigned to various companies which do not even exists now. Other of NAT was introduced to get around this problem. Using NAT (Network Address Translation) does not solve the problem either. NAT does not support upper layer protocols. NAT does not support security standard.

'Only Addressing' is a major concern in IPv4 addressing.

Short notes on IPv4:

(i) It consists of two parts: Network part and host part.

(ii) It has 32-bit address length and header length is 20 bytes.

(iii) It is used to identify devices on network through addressing system.

(iv) It broadcast ARP request frames resolve IPv4 address to link layer address.

(v) It is configured manually or through DHCP headers.

(vi) It supports Virtual Length subnet Mask.

(vii) In this fragmentation is performed by sender and forwarding routers.

(viii) It uses the dot-decimal notation. Dotted decimal notation of IPv4 is 128.15.5.32.

(ix) There are 5 IPv4 address classes: class A, B,C,D,E.

Advantages of IPv4:

(i) Large routing tasks.

Disadvantages of IPv4:

(i) Limited address space.

Hope it helps!
