Which of the following is a polynomial? give reason a) x+1 divided by x 2 -1 (b)x 2 +(2 divided by x -1) (c) x 2 +(3x 5/3 divided by x 2/3) what is in the bracket is not multiplication. i put it to show that 2 is divided x-1 and 3x 5/3 is divided by x 2/3. and x 2 is seperate.

answer = (c)

given three expressions are:
a)\ \frac{x+1}{x^2-1}=\frac{1}{x-1}\\\\. (b)\ x^2+\frac{2}{x-1}\\\\. (c)x^2+\frac{3\ x^\frac{5}{3}}{x^\frac{2}{3}} \\\\=x^2+3x

A polynomial has a sum of terms that have variable x with non negative integer powers. The given expression in (C) simplifies to a polynomial.

PinkyTune: sir*
PinkyTune: my answer WAS correct
kvnmurty: wait let me complete... please
PinkyTune: polynomials don't jve to contain x. any kind of variable
