A set of virtual machine instances is known as compute. The azure and the services related to it will let the developers to extend the applications and move to the cloud.
You can easily deploy azure compute resources and can manage set of those identical virtual machines with ease.
When all the Virtual machines are configured in the same manner, scale sets are developed to be compatible with the true auto scale and there is no need of pre-provisioning virtual machines.
